HSBC Singapore debuts green deposit account for corporate clients
HSBC clients will receive a quarterly portfolio-level view of how their funds are being used in green projects
Singapore
HSBC Singapore on Thursday launched its first green deposit account for corporate clients. It will accept the Singdollar and US dollar, providing a simpler way for companies to support environmentally-friendly projects.
Singapore and the UK will be HSBC's first two markets to launch such a product; plans are being lined up to roll it out in other markets this year. Deposits will finance green initiatives such as renewable energy, energy efficiency and biodiversity conservation.
