Keeping up standards
DBS Bank has embedded the IBF Standards into its training programmes to help staff upgrade their skills and hone their competencies.
FOR five days in March, some 150 DBS Bank employees gathered with business startups from around the region in a space known as Block 79, Ayer Rajah.
The topics that day had little to do with funding and credit lines; instead they focused on tackling larger business and societal challenges. The aim was to harvest the collective brainpower in the room to come up with prototypes of solutions to the problems they had identified.
Known as the DBS MegaHackathon, this interesting experiment was in reality part of the bank's talent development programme (see sidebar).
