Kuala Lumpur
IN a bid to boost Islamic funds and wealth management, Malaysia aims to increase the number of Syariah-based shares on Bursa Malaysia's financial index which currently has a dearth of such equities.
The authorities are considering the listing of additional Islamic banking groups or listing the "i-shares" of selective banking groups as options, Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) group chairman Abdul Wahid Omar said on Tuesday.
