PRIVATE insurers offering Integrated Shield (IP) policies have staged a turnaround in their underwriting results for 2020, after years of losses since around 2016.

Part of the turnaround may be one-off - that is, Covid-19 caused policyholders to postpone non-emergency or non-essential treatment, which helped to boost results.
