SINGAPORE'S life insurance industry recorded a total of S$1.25 billion in weighted new business premiums for the first quarter ended March, growing 29 per cent from the year-ago quarter.

This came amid a significant growth in the number of policies purchased online as well as a surge in the uptake of single premium products, said the Life Insurance Association, Singapore (LIA) in a press release issued Tuesday.
