ONG Ye Kung, Acting Minister for Education (Higher Education and Skills) and Senior Minister of State, Ministry of Defence, has been appointed to the board of directors at the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS), the central bank said on Monday.
Mr Ong's term of appointment will be from Aug 29, 2016, to May 31, 2019.
Lawrence Wong, Minister for National Development, will be stepping down from the MAS board on Monday. He was appointed to the MAS board on June 10, 2011.
Tharman Shanmugaratnam, Deputy Prime Minister and Coordinating Minister for Economic and Social Policies, is chairman of the board which includes Lim Hng Kiang, Minister for Trade and Industry (Trade) as deputy chairman, and Heng Swee Keat, Minister for Finance.
