Rush for ringgit eases as rate offered is not as expected

THE Malaysian ringgit may be plunging to new lows of over 3.00 against the Singapore dollar, but don't expect to get more than 2.97 at money changers.

Money changers were offering rates of between RM2.95 and RM2.97 for the Singdollar on Tuesday, going by a survey of more than 20 outlets in Chinatown, City Hall, and Orchard Road by The Business Times.
