THE sentencing of former BSI banker Yeo Jiawei for attempting to pervert the course of justice in connection with Singapore's largest money-laundering probe linked to the massive 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) scandal will take place on Thursday afternoon.
The Business Times understands that the prosecution, in its sentencing submissions, would likely ask the state court to hand penalties that are "something beyond the norm" due to the scale of investigations and the nature of the offences.
