UNITED Overseas Bank Limited (UOB) is donating S$16.6 million to local charities that support people with special needs, children and the elderly to mark its 80th anniversary, the bank said on Friday.
The Community Chest will receive S$11.8 million to help those with disabilities while S$2 million will go to the Care & Share Movement. "Coupled with the S$3.57 million donation made earlier in the year, the bank's combined gift of S$17.37 million to Community Chest and the Care & Share Movement is the biggest by a private entity donor in 2015," UOB said.
