Big companies in transformation push during Covid outperform peers: EY-Parthenon

LISTED companies in South-east Asia that took proactive steps to transform themselves during the Covid-19 pandemic outperformed reactive transformers, according to a study published by EY-Parthenon.
The study found that companies that proactively took transformative actions even while they were doing well saw a 13 percentage point outperformance in total shareholder returns, compared with companies that only reacted to external triggers.
The study covered the top 10 companies by market capitalisation across 7 sectors in South-east Asia. Singapore-listed companies made up 10 of the 70 companies.
