BreadTalk to open UK's first Din Tai Fung in 2017 as part of JV
BREADTALK Group will team up with the franchise owner of the Din Tai Fung brand of restaurants to operate the trademark eatery in the United Kingdom.
BreadTalk, a bakery and restaurant group, said the first Din Tai Fung restaurant in London will open in 2017.
The UK restaurants will be run by a joint venture between BreadTalk, Din Tai Fung franchise owner Fairy Rise Development, Din Tai Fung Taiwan, a UK partner and a Taiwanese individual. BreadTalk will be the major shareholder of the venture.
Details of the structure of the joint venture have yet to be finalised.
BreadTalk currently operates 21 Din Tai Fung restaurants in Singapore, and three in Thailand.
