BreadTalk Q2 profit dives 54.8% at S$1.3m

A DIP in revenue, as well as an increase in expenses and taxation, weighed down results for BreadTalk Group in its second quarter.
Net profit plummeted 54.8 per cent to S$1.3 million from the previous year, the group said in a Singapore Exchange filing on Wednesday evening.
For the three months ended June 30, revenue shrank 3.3 per cent to S$149.8 million from the preceding year.
The decline in revenue for the first half of 2016 was due partly to drops in bakery division and food atrium revenues, it added.
Q2 earnings per share plummeted to 0.46 Singapore cent from 1.02 Singapore cents in the year-ago period.
Net asset value per share edged up to 52.4 Singapore cents as at June 30, from 52 Singapore cents as at six months ago.

Dividend per share was flat at 0.5 Singapore cents - unchanged from the preceding year.
BreadTalk Group shares closed flat at S$1.12 on Wednesday.
