THE Business Times will launch a new premium newsletter on ESG (environment, social and corporate governance) on Friday (June 10), furthering its commitment to cover this increasingly important topic.
The ESG Insights newsletter will feature the week’s top ESG stories focusing on Singapore and the region, including changing regulatory standards, disclosure gaps and carbon market developments.
It will also include candid, original and exclusive analysis of the risks and opportunities ESG standards bring, written by BT senior correspondent Kenneth Lim.
Lim said that while the mainstreaming of sustainability has been one of the most important trends in the past several years, it has been challenging to keep abreast of developments and to know fact from fiction.
“We want to unearth only the important and relevant ESG news for Singapore and the region, and help our readers to understand it,“ added Lim, who was formerly a deputy news editor at BT.
Lim is one of 5 seasoned journalists making up BT’s dedicated team for ESG issues, which the financial daily announced earlier in April as part of its commitment to strengthen its ESG coverage.
A NEWSLETTER FOR YOU
ESG Insights
An exclusive weekly report on the latest environmental, social and governance issues.
BT also conducted a survey the same month to seek input from readers on how to better serve their needs through its ESG journalism.
In response to the valuable feedback provided, the newsletter will focus on filling a critical gap in journalism relevant to local and regional businesses and investors.
It will also include text and visual explainers that help to break down an often challenging ESG regulatory landscape and rapidly evolving corporate and tech developments.
BT Associate Editor Chan Cheow Pong said he hopes readers will find the newsletter useful as a source of regular and reliable intelligence on a fast-moving topic.
“Newsletters are an important part of BT’s efforts to connect with our subscribers and share the best of our award-winning subscription journalism in depth,” said Chan, who oversees audience strategy and memberships at BT.
“We are currently reviewing our newsletters and hope to create more that are premium and subject-focused to meet our readers’ needs,” he added.
To be sent out weekly, the newsletter will be available for free for a limited period. Existing BT subscribers will automatically receive the first edition of this newsletter on June 10.
