Buying by directors, companies jumps
THE buying surged for the second straight week while the selling among directors remained very low based on filings with the Singapore Exchange in the third week of August.
A total of 34 companies recorded 76 purchases worth S$7.65 million versus one firm with one disposal worth S$0.26 million. The buy figures were higher than the previous week's four-day totals of 20 companies, 40 purchases and S$3.1 million. The sales, however, were consistent with the previous week's two firms, two disposals and S$0.26 million.
Buyback activity also surged for the second straight week with 33 companies that posted 142 repurchases worth S$167 million. The figures were up from the previous week's 20 firms, 74 trades and S$145 million.
