Buying falls for third week, selling rises sharply

THE buying fell for the third straight week while the selling among directors surged, according to filings on the Singapore Exchange in the second week of October. Buyers outweighed sellers with 10 companies that recorded 17 purchases worth S$3.3 million versus four firms with six disposals worth S$0.48 million.
The number of companies and trades on the buying side were down from the previous week's 12 firms and 19 purchases. The buy value, however, was sharply up from the previous week's S$1.5 million.
On the selling side, the number of companies and trades were sharply up from the previous week's one firm and one disposal. The sell value, however, was down from the previous week's disposals worth S$0.59 million.
