JASON Holdings said that as far as it was aware, Singapore's Commercial Affairs Department was investigating the company's director Jason Sim Chon Ang for a possible offence under the penal code and not Jason Parquet Specialist (Singapore) Pte Ltd (JPSS).
"The board wishes to clarify that, as far as it is aware, the investigations conducted by the CAD on a possible offence under the Penal Code are only against Mr Sim and not against JPSS," said Jason Holdings chairman Lim Chwee Kim in an announcement to the Singapore Exchange over the weekend.
JPSS is Jason Holdings' principal operating unit.
The company issued the statement following news reports based on its announcement last Thursday where it said the CAD was investigating Mr Sim, a director of the company and of wholly-owned JPSS.
Mr Sim was interviewed by the crime buster on August 1 and his travel documents were impounded on Aug 2, said the company.
"The board will monitor the progress of the investigations and make such further announcement(s) as may be necessary," it said in the statement issued on Saturday.
