Canadian dollar falls on dip in factory sales

Toronto
THE Canadian dollar weakened against its US counterpart last Friday after domestic data showed a surprise drop in factory sales, while the greenback climbed broadly on prospects of a US tax overhaul.
Manufacturing sales fell 0.4 per cent in October, pulled down by weak sales of cars and other transportation equipment. Analysts had forecast a 0.8 per cent increase.
