China: Shares lower in morning trade

    [SHANGHAI] Chinese shares were lower in morning trade on Tuesday after data showed January inflation was at its lowest level in more than five years, dealers said.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.21 per cent, or 6.52 points, to 3,088.60.

    The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.02 per cent, or 0.27 points, to 1,489.12.
