China: Stocks dip at open on Tuesday

[HONG KONG] Chinese stocks opened lower on Tuesday as trade tensions with the US intensified with the announcement of more tit-for-tat tariffs.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.80 per cent, or 22.41 points, to 2,775.07, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, shed 0.72 per cent, or 10.42 points, to 1,434.69.
Hong Kong markets are closed for a public holiday.
