China: Stocks down slightly in morning trade

[SHANGHAI] Chinese stocks edged lower on Tuesday morning, extending losses after the release of weak manufacturing data for July, dealers said.
The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index slipped 0.11 per cent, or 3.31 points, to 2,950.08. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, fell 0.13 per cent, or 2.41 points, to 1,910.24.
Hong Kong financial markets were closed because of Typhoon Nida.
