EUROPE'S major stock markets rebounded at the open on Tuesday (Apr 26), after tumbling the previous day on worries over the worsening Covid-19 outbreak in China.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 shares index won 0.9 per cent to 7,445.85, compared with the closing level on Monday.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 added 0.7 per cent to 6,494.68 and Frankfurt's DAX jumped 1.1 per cent to 14,079.48 points.
The performance followed an upbeat session on Wall Street, which was lifted by Elon Musk's US$44-billion purchase of Twitter.
Asian indices diverged on Tuesday as investors scrambled to recover from Monday's rout but fears lingered over the impact of China's Covid-induced lockdowns and the Federal Reserve's plan to hike interest rates quickly. AFP
