Europe: Equity markets open mixed
EUROPE'S stock markets opened mixed on Friday (Jul 15), after sinking the previous day as surging global inflation fuelled expectations of more painful interest rate hikes.
In initial deals, London's FTSE 100 index was marginally higher at 7,043.22 points compared with the closing level on Thursday.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 index fell 0.2 per cent to 5,906.32 points, while Frankfurt's DAX rose almost 0.3 per cent to 12,550.84. AFP
