Europe: Stock markets climb at open

[LONDON] European stock markets climbed at the start of trading on Thursday following strong gains in Tokyo and on Wall Street.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.4 per cent to 6,967.01 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index advanced 0.7 per cent to 11,257.92 points and the Paris CAC 40 added 0.4 per cent to 4,993.09.
