Europe: Stock markets descend at open
[LONDON] European stock markets swirled lower in opening trade on Wednesday on mounting investor fears over escalating tensions between the United States and North Korea.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index weakened by 0.5 per cent to 7,503.39 points.
In the eurozone, the Paris CAC 40 recoiled 0.7 per cent to 5,182.05 points compared with the closing level on Tuesday.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 was more than 0.8 per cent lower at 12,191.37 points.
