Europe: Stock markets fall at open

[LONDON] European stock markets fell modestly at the start of trading on Thursday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index down 0.2 per cent at 7,281.42 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 dropped 0.2 per cent to 12,077.36 points and the Paris CAC 40 lost 0.2 per cent to 5,365.37, compared with Wednesday's closing levels.
