Europe: Stock markets jump at open

[LONDON] European stock markets rose solidly at the start of trading on Wednesday, with London's benchmark FTSE 100 index up 0.9 per cent at 6,671.48 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index gained 0.5 per cent to 13,716.44 points and the Paris CAC 40 added 0.7 per cent to 5,603.41.
