Europe: Stock markets rise at open
[LONDON] Europe's main stock markets opened with solid gains on Friday as attention turned to upcoming US jobs data.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.6 per cent to 6,222.34 points compared with Thursday's close.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 rose 0.3 per cent to 10,237.58 points and the CAC 40 in Paris gained 0.3 per cent to 4,477.83.
Official jobs data due Friday will aid the Federal Reserve in deciding when to once more lift US interest rates.
