    EUROPEAN stock markets slid at the start of trading on Tuesday (May 24) following losses in Asia on concerns over weak Chinese growth.

    London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 1.0 per cent to 7,442.20 points.

    In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index lost 1.0 per cent to 14,033.13 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 1.2 per cent to 6,283.82. AFP
