Europe: Stock markets slip at open

[LONDON] European stock markets nudged lower at the start of trading on Wednesday (Apr 6), after earlier losses in Asia and overnight on Wall Street.
In initial trade, London's benchmark FTSE 100 index of major blue-chip companies fell almost 0.1 per cent to 7,609.21 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index declined 0.2 per cent to 14,394.65 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.3 per cent to 6,627.23.
Asian equities also slid after Wall Street tumbled on bets the Federal Reserve will act more aggressively to bring inflation under control. AFP
