Europe: Stocks climb at open after oil prices slump

    [LONDON] European stock markets climbed at the open on Thursday (Mar 31) following a slump in oil prices.

    London's benchmark FTSE 100 index grew 0.1 per cent to 7,585.34 points.

    In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index gained 0.4 per cent to 14,669.09 points and the Paris CAC 40 edged up 0.1 per cent to 6,746.89.

    Oil prices tumbled around 4 per cent on Thursday on reports that the United States is considering tapping its reserves to combat a supply crisis sparked by the Ukraine war. AFP
