Europe: Stocks climb at open

    EUROPEAN stock markets rose at the open on Tuesday (Jun 28) after Tokyo closed higher, as global equities recover lost ground following recent sharp losses on recession fears.

    London's benchmark FTSE 100 index jumped 1.0 per cent to 7,329.48 points.

    In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index gained 0.8 per cent to 13,289.89 points and the Paris CAC 40 advanced 1.1 per cent to 6,113.31. AFP
