Europe: Stocks drop at open

    [LONDON] European stock markets slid at the open on Friday (Oct 29), with traders closing out the week by booking recent profits.

    London's benchmark FTSE 100 index dropped 0.7 per cent to 7,197.57 points.

    In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index shed 0.7 per cent to 15,581.22 points and the Paris CAC 40 lost 0.5 per cent to 6,771.53.
