EUROPEAN stock markets dropped at the open on Wednesday (Sep 7) as investors eye more aggressive interest rate hikes from the Federal Reserve and other central banks to combat sky-high inflation.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index slid 0.8 per cent to 7,243.79 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index shed 0.7 per cent to 12,787.33 points and the Paris CAC 40 retreated 0.7 per cent to 6,062.38. AFP
