Europe: Stocks drop at open, before US inflation
EUROPEAN stock markets dropped at the open on Wednesday (Aug 10), with all eyes on US inflation data later in the day.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index fell 0.1 per cent to 7,483.52 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index retreated 0.4 per cent to 13,482.21 points and the Paris CAC 40 shed 0.3 per cent to 6,472.54.
"We're seeing plenty of apprehension ahead of the US inflation report on Wednesday, with Asia in the red and Europe following suit," noted Craig Erlam, senior market analyst at OANDA trading group. AFP
