Europe: Stocks extend slide at open

EUROPEAN stock markets slumped further at the open on Monday (Jun 13) on rising concerns over soaring inflation.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index shed 0.9 per cent to 7,248.47 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index retreated 1.3 per cent to 13,588.51 points and the Paris CAC 40 tumbled 1.5 per cent to 6,095.54.
World stock markets have plunged since Friday when data showed US inflation at a fresh four-decade high, increasing recession fears. AFP
