[LONDON] European shares rose for the third straight session on Monday.
The pan-European STOXX 600 index rose 0.8 per cent. It is still down about 10 per cent so far in 2016, having lost ground after Britain's shock vote last month to leave the European Union.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index gained 0.7 per cent compared with Friday's close to open at 6,635.36 points.
Frankfurt's DAX 30 jumped 1.2 per cent to 9,744.80 points and the Paris CAC 40 advanced 0.7 per cent to 4,221.22.
