Europe: Stocks recover further at open

EUROPEAN stocks rallied at the open on Thursday (Jul 7), recovering further from sharp losses earlier in the week, as volatility grips financial markets focused on recession risks.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.9 per cent to 7,171.46 points.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index advanced 1.2 per cent to 12,742.31 points and the Paris CAC 40 jumped 1.3 per cent to 5,986.74. AFP
