Europe: Stocks rise at open, awaiting US jobs data

[LONDON] European stock markets climbed at the open Friday as investors awaited key US jobs data later in the day, looking for further signs of economic recovery.

London's benchmark FTSE 100 index grew 0.5 per cent to 7,107.93 points.

In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index jumped 0.9 per cent to 15,336.82 points and the Paris CAC 40 added 0.4 per cent to 6,379.04.
