Europe: Stocks rise further at open
EUROPEAN stock markets climbed at the open on Monday (Sep 12), building on strong gains ahead of the weekend.
London’s benchmark FTSE 100 index rose 0.4 per cent to 7,377.67 points, as official data showed Britain’s recession-threatened economy rebounded slightly in July.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt’s DAX index advanced 0.7 per cent to 13,177.16 points and the Paris CAC 40 rose 0.4 per cent to 6,236.55. AFP
