EUROPEAN stock markets steadied at the open on Wednesday (Apr 27) following sharp losses on Wall Street and losses in Tokyo overnight.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed 0.1 per cent to 7,396.08 points, helped by solid share price gains for banks and miners.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX index dipped 0.1 per cent to 13,741.93 points and the Paris CAC 40 was flat at 6,416.03. AFP
