Hon Hai shares rise nearly 3% after Sharp deal approval, posting Q4 earnings

[HONG KONG] Shares of electronic contract manufacturer Hon Hai Precision opened up 2.87 per cent on Thursday after it posted market-beating fourth-quarter earnings and approved a deal with Japan's Sharp Corp.
A few minutes into trading, Hon Hai shares extended gains to 3.35 percent. The broader market opened up 0.2 per cent.
