Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks fall at open

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong and Shanghai shares sank in the first few minutes of trade on Thursday following hefty losses on Wall Street.

The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong fell 0.34 per cent, or 67.65 points, to 19,987.64.

And the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index fell 0.88 per cent, or 24.93 points, to 2,812.11 while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 1.38 per cent, or 24.80 points, to 1,766.26.
