Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks slip in early trade
[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks opened lower Tuesday, tracking losses in New York, while Shanghai extended the previous day's losses on concerns about liquidity ahead of the restart of initial public offerings.
The Hang Seng Index in Hong Kong dipped 0.32 per cent, or 72.81 points, to 22,593.09.
In Shanghai the benchmark composite index eased 0.21 per cent, or 7.42 points, to 3,602.89, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, edged down 0.11 per cent, or 2.48 points, at 2,266.14.
