Hong Kong, Shanghai: Stocks track Wall Street higher

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares continued their advance Thursday as investors tracked a fifth successive record close on Wall Street fuelled by growing optimism over the US economy.

    The Hang Seng Index gained 0.47 per cent, or 112.83 points, to 24,107.70.

    The benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gained 0.52 per cent, or 16.63 points, to 3,229.62 and the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, rose 0.57 per cent, or 11.08 points, to 1,958.12.
