Hong Kong: Shares close 0.6% higher as tech and financial stocks gain

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong shares finished 0.6 per cent higher on Friday, led by tech and financial stocks amid easing political tensions between China and the United States.

Tracking gains made overnight on Wall Street, the Hang Seng index rose to 24,837.85.

The Shanghai Composite Index rose 0.67 per cent, or 24.00 points, to 3,592.17, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange gained 0.79 per cent, or 18.87 points, to 2,413.92.
