Hong Kong: Shares close with modest gains

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks closed with modest gains on Tuesday (Apr 12), with all eyes on key US inflation data due later in the trading day.

The Hang Seng Index was up 0.52 per cent, or 110.83 points, to 21,319.13.

The Shanghai Composite Index closed up by 1.46 per cent, or 46.20 points, to 3,213.33, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange was up 1.81 per cent, or 36.44 points, to 2,047.88. AFP
