Hong Kong: Shares end the day lower

[HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks closed lower on Wednesday on profit-taking after a recent run-up and following a tepid Wall Street lead on concerns about the spread of the Delta Covid variant.
The Hang Seng Index eased 0.12 per cent, or 32.70 points, to 26,320.93.
The Shanghai Composite Index was flat, inching down 1.40 points to 3,676.59, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China's second exchange dipped 0.08 per cent, or 1.95 points, to 2,492.59.
