HONG KONG stocks were barely moved at the start of trade on Friday (Oct 28) as bargain-buying and hopes for a slower pace of Federal Reserve rate hikes were offset by another sell-off in US tech firms caused by weak earnings reports.
The Hang Seng Index inched down 3.00 points to 15,242.94.
The Shanghai Composite Index dropped 0.53 per cent, or 15.88 points, to 2,967.02, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange fell 0.75 per cent, or 14.54 points, to 1,930.84. AFP
