Hong Kong: Shares open higher on Thursday

    HONG KONG stocks kicked off Thursday (Jun 23) morning with a gain following the previous day’s hefty losses but with fears over a possible recession continuing to weigh on sentiment.

    The Hang Seng Index rose 0.71 per cent, or 149.24 points, to 21,157.58.

    The Shanghai Composite Index edged up 0.06 per cent, or 1.85 points, to 3,269.05, while the Shenzhen Composite Index on China’s second exchange added 0.18 per cent, or 3.73 points, to 2,123.55. AFP
