Hong Kong: Shares open slightly higher

    [HONG KONG] Hong Kong stocks rose again on Thursday, with energy firms extending the previous day's gains on another jump in oil prices.

    The Hang Seng Index rose 0.40 per cent, or 122.52 points, to 31,020.23.

    But the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index gave up 0.15 per cent, or 4.80 points, to 3,203.28, while the Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, lost 0.13 per cent, or 2.42 points, to 1,848.55.
